We had 12 hours to kill at Istanbul International before our flight back to Los Angeles. Too long to sit at the airport. So we took a leap — hopped a bus to the city center with no plan, no local knowledge, and no idea what to expect.

We arrived at 7AM. Istanbul wakes up at 11.

We wandered Istiklal Street while every shop was shuttered. We spent an hour just finding an open restaurant. We never made it to the European side. We had the pieces for an incredible morning — and no idea how to put them together.

On the flight home, we started sketching out an idea: what if a local had met us at the airport? Someone who knew the city, knew the traffic, and knew exactly how to make 12 hours feel like a weekend.
