Your Layover Guide to Los Angeles (LAX)

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) serviced more than 70 million passengers in 2014, and traffic is projected to rise to up to 100 million by 2040 — so chances are you will soon have a layover at LAX. Here is what you need to know.

Question: Do you need a visa to enter to the States?

Answer: It depends. Your passport governs whether or not you need a visa to enter the US. Citizens from the below listed countries do not require a visa to enter the US.

Question: How long do I need to see the Hollywood Sign and Walk of Fame

Answer: You need around 5 hours to really enjoy your visit to the Hollywood sign give and take two hours to check in. Traffic in LA is really bad. So expect to spend a lot of your time being stuck between sightseeing locations. If you arrive on a weekend you are in luck because traffic is better.

Question: Is there anything to do around the airport/ LAX?

Answer: The airport area is a bit industrial-like. LAX is huge and unless you have a car to go outside the immediate vicinity of LAX, there isn't much to do in terms of just walking out the airport. The closest city is El Segundo, and there is a new shopping mall there that is nice to visit, its called The Point. Also, you can take a taxi to Manhattan Beach- which is 5 miles away from the airport. It is a nice small (upscale) beach city with lots of restaurants and cafes.

Needless to say, you can always check our layover stop tours and pick something that suits your adventure style ;)

Happy travelling.
